Self-compassion training for schools
A half-day talk and workshop for school staff, on self-compassion as a key to wellbeing and performance. The training is offered free of charge to selected schools through the community initiative for children's and young people's mental health run by Länsförsäkringar Göteborg och Bohuslän, in partnership with Mindworkout and Well-Aware-ness.
Self-compassion is the ability to meet yourself with kindness even when something goes wrong or when life feels heavy. It builds a mental hardiness that makes it easier to get back up after setbacks, and it strengthens empathy and cohesion in groups of pupils and staff alike. The training is built on scientific methods.
What the session covers
A deeper understanding of self-compassion and what it means for school staff and pupils.
Insight into the three motivation systems in the brain, the threat system, the drive system and the soothing system, and why the balance between them is decisive for wellbeing as well as for the ability to learn and perform.
Strategies for activating the soothing system.
Exercises and tools for developing self-compassion in both staff and pupils.
How it works
The talk and workshop take around three hours and alternate between theory and practical exercises and discussion, towards a more sustainable and brain-smart environment for staff and pupils alike. As a next step we help with the implementation in a follow-up meeting. Register via info@mindworkout.se. Contact person: Elin Borg, 0761-997532.
